Affiliate disclosure
Some links on Decoded Signal are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Here is exactly how that works and how it is kept separate from our testing.
The rules
Claim statuses, verdicts and rankings are set by test results before any affiliate link is added. Articles about products that failed our tests carry the same disclosure — and often no purchase link at all.
Affiliate availability never decides what we cover. When a free, unaffiliated option performs the same task, the article says so and links to that option where useful.
Affiliate links are marked in context, use rel="sponsored", and appear in a single restrained call-to-action rather than woven through the article body.
What we buy ourselves
Every subscription, device and account used in testing is purchased at retail. Vendors do not supply review units, upgraded plans or early access, and they do not see articles before publication.
