Decoded Signal

Editorial policy

Every article on Decoded Signal follows the same standards, whether it reviews a $5 viewer tool or a market-leading parental-control suite.

Evidence over opinion

Claims are tested as advertised and labeled with one of four statuses — Verified, Limited, Unsupported or Impossible. Observations, vendor claims and our own opinions are visually distinguished in testing notes so readers always know which is which.

We never fabricate screenshots or test results. When a capture is pending, the slot says so instead of showing a mockup.

Consent and safety

All testing is consent-based, on accounts and devices we control. We do not publish instructions for defeating platform privacy controls, and we state plainly that legitimate location sharing and private-account access generally require consent, account approval or appropriate device permissions.

Dates and corrections

Every article shows its published and last-checked dates and keeps an update history. Errors are corrected in place and logged. Report one via the contact page.
