Can you view an Instagram Story anonymously?

Yes, if the Story belongs to a public account and the viewer can retrieve it. A no-login viewer loads the public Story separately, so your personal Instagram account does not perform the view and your username is not added to that Story's viewer list.
This does not unlock private Stories. If the account is private, you still need approval from its owner. Results can also be delayed or incomplete because Stories expire after 24 hours and outside services do not update at the same speed.
